Bucket mould material selection.

P20 steel is most popular for the bucket mould, high-grade forged tool steel relatively free of defects; it is available in a prehardened steel. It can be textured or polished to almost any desired finish and it is a tough material. Bucket mould often inserted with copper alloys (beryllium copper) for fast cooling, is used to meet specific requirements to meet tool life and cost. The choice of steel is often limited, particulary by the available sizes of the blocks or plates that are required for the large tools.

As a tooling guide to life expectancy, consider P20 steel for long runs (1 million products). In case the production quantity requirement is not big, and around 200,000 products, you can consider to order 45# tempering steel for the bucket mould; it is a economical way.
